Virtual event will offer world-class insights into optimizing water in hygienic production
Companies feeling the effects of global pressure on water resources are being offered a unique insight into innovative hygienic production solutions at a virtual event this June. Alfa Laval are the hosts as world-leading experts discuss how to close the loop in industrial water management, focusing on technologies and solutions that optimize its use and reuse for cleaning and cooling in hygienic production. The event on June 4th is the third in a series focused on industrial water conservation and will feature specialist speakers from Alfa Laval and its partners.
“At Alfa Laval, we are seeing a sharp upturn in customers coming to us as they are being required to comply with sudden and drastic reductions in water use or with much stricter regulatory requirements for the quality of their discharge water,” says Imran Rashid, President BU Food Heat Transfer at Alfa Laval.
“This inevitably comes with serious and immediate cost implications, and potential impacts to competitiveness, licenses to operate and the ability to attract partners, capital, and talent. This event is an opportunity for organizations to gain inspiration and insights from some leading technology experts who are driven to find solutions to these big challenges.”
The water crisis was recently summed up in just six words by Charles Iceland, Director of Freshwater Initiatives at the World Resources Institute (WRI) – ‘too little, too much, too dirty’ – and when members of the World Economic Forum convened at the Annual Meeting in Davos in January, water, climate, nature and energy were the top topics of discussion.
“Achieving water positive operations is typically the long-term objective for forward-thinking companies, and those companies that act sooner rather than later will be the winners,” says Imran, who will be joined at the June event by Alfa Laval colleagues Eline Suijlen, Water Industry Manager, Allan Bruun, Business Development Manager, representing ThinkTop®; Anna Andrys, Strategic Project Manager, representing Alfa Laval Extend™; Filippa Kinderdal, Product & Portfolio Manager, representing Alfa Laval Optiwia.
Focusing on solutions that mitigate water risks, and optimize water use for cleaning and cooling in hygienic production, attendees will gain valuable insights on how to:
- Build resilience to climate change effects and water cycle impacts to safeguard water security and secure production uptime while enabling future growth.
- Strengthen their license to operate in water-scarce areas by meeting growing consumer and regulatory demands for sustainable practices, striking the right balance between financial gain and circular water use.
- Establish themselves as an industry leader in optimal water reuse on the path to water neutrality and water-positive operations, helping to attract investment, workforce talent, and market share.
Eline Suijlen says: “We believe that achieving water-positive industrial operations is key to building resilience to the water crisis. This journey begins with the optimization of the water footprint, which is the first step to reach water neutrality. At Alfa Laval, we're reinventing technologies and systems to make implementation easier, one solution at a time. We leverage our innovation power to combine proven solutions in new ways and develop groundbreaking and intelligent alternatives that enable industries to optimize water reuse.”
