How does the GJ rotary jet heads for Barrel/Drum/IBC cleaning work?
High-impact, low-resource cleaning
The high-impact jet stream from the rotary jet head is preprogrammed to cover the inside of the tank in a continuously denser pattern. This achieves a powerful mechanical impact with a low volume of water, acid or caustic. Most of the Alfa Laval GJ rotary jet heads are capable of operating at both high and low pressures.
Smoother, long-lasting performance
The Alfa Laval GJ range includes a unique, grease-lubricated gear to ensure that potentially damaging particles are not trapped in the gear during CIP recirculation. This innovative design ensures a smoother performance and reduces wear and tear.

Fast cleaning of IBC
The Alfa Laval GJ 9 is ideal to clean IBCs and small vessels. The unit easily fits through openings as narrow as 76mm (3”). The device operates effectively at both high 70 bar (1000 PSI) and low 3 bar (40PSI) pressures, providing flexible options and potentially reducing cleaning time. Cleaning is often carried out with 4-8 minutes.
Drum & Barrel cleaning
The Alfa Laval GJ 7 and Alfa Laval GJ BB are gamajet barrel washers designed to ensure clean barrels and drums, utilizing the least amount of time and wash fluid. Clean the entire drum or barrel in less than 2 - 7 minutes. The units are ideal for cleaning a variety of residues, including adhesives, paints, chemicals and petroleum. The units easily fit through openings as narrow as 55mm (1.75”).

Energy-efficient design
A faster tank cleaning cycle also cuts energy consumption. Cleaning fluid flows through the nozzles in an automated, geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface, with subsequent cycles progressively densifying the pattern over the course of eight cycles.
