High-speed centrifugal separators are trusted worldwide for cleaning marine fuel by removing water and particulate matter. Unlike traditional systems that require manual gravity disc adjustments, Alfa Laval’s proven ALCAP™ technology automatically adapts to any fuel density - ensuring uninterrupted operation and consistent performance. Fully biofuel ready, these separators efficiently handle HVO and FAME blends, as well as heavy fuel oil and distillates. With ALCAP™, you benefit from reliable fuel cleaning efficiency and robust engine protection. Depend on technology that’s tried, tested, and ready for every voyage.
The Alfa Laval S separator equipped with proven ALCAP™ technology, features advanced software for precise parameter setting via the process controller. This flexibility enables you to treat both heavy fuel oil and lubricating oil in a single separator module. After centrifugal separation, clean oil is continuously pumped away, while water and sludge collect at the bowl periphery.
A water transducer in the clean oil outlet measures capacitive resistance, instantly signalling any changes to the control unit. The controller then manages the system, automatically opening the drain valve or expelling water during sludge discharge, based on real-time water content.
The CentriShoot discharge process utilizes a patented slide mechanism, eliminating metal-to-metal wear and minimizing oil loss—delivering efficient, reliable performance with every cycle.
The Alfa Laval P separator is engineered for well-defined oils and straightforward process conditions. Its separator bowl uses manually set gravity discs to achieve high performance, though it does not automatically adjust for process fluctuations. Depending on your needs, the separator bowl can be configured as either a purifier or a clarifier.
- A purifier removes both solids and water from oil, ensuring comprehensive cleaning.
- A clarifier is dedicated to removing only solids, with no water separation.
