Diaphragm valves
Alfa Laval diaphragm valves are aseptic inline valves to shut off, divert and/or regulate the fluid flow through hygienic, high-purity and aseptic processing lines. Manually or pneumatically operated, these compact, lightweight valves are easy to configure to suit virtually any process requirement, including sterile and ultra-hygienic processes for biotech and pharmaceutical applications.
Proven, high-performance diaphragm valves for demanding aseptic processes
- Ensure high-quality, contaminant-free products due to hermetic design and aseptic diaphragm technology
- Save time and money with compact, lightweight, easy-to-install valves from two-way to customized valve clusters
- Increase performance with purpose-built valves with minimal deadlegs and maximum drainability and cleanability
- Increase performance and reliability whilst reducing downtime due to optimized valves and the use of high-grade and long-lasting materials
- Ease qualification and change control procedures with Alfa Laval Q-doc documentation package for full traceability of all product contact parts
Get contaminant-free performance across all the hygienic and high-purity industries, including the food, personal care, biotech and pharmaceutical industries with Alfa Laval diaphragm valves.
Design purpose-built two-way or multiport pneumatic diaphragm valves to meet your exact requirements. Selection is simple, flexible and easy. All high-grade, ATEX-compliant components are compatible and engineered to safeguard product quality and process efficiency, reliability and economy.
Choose from hard and soft membranes, various valve bodies, pneumatic actuator or manual handle, diaphragm materials, connections and also various surface finishes and materials, including corrosion-resistant alloys. Then add the valve sensing and control units to suit your exact process requirements.
How does diaphragm valves work?
Alfa Laval diaphragm valves are designed for versatile operation, offering both manual and automatic modes. These valves can be operated manually using a handle or automatically with a pneumatic actuator, making them ideal for various industrial applications.
For manual operation, simply turn the handle to lift the compressor upwards. This action moves the diaphragm for valve away from the weir of the valve body, effectively opening the control diaphragm valve. Turning the handle in the opposite direction pushes the compressor downwards onto the diaphragm, pressing the diaphragm against the weir of the valve body and securely closing the valve.
For automatic operation, pneumatic diaphragm valves utilize a pneumatic actuator to control the axial movement of a piston. This actuator precisely opens or closes the valve, depending on the required function, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
