Celebrating World Intellectual Property Day

Every innovation starts with an idea. At Alfa Laval, these ideas have been lighting the way for more than 140 years. From Gustaf de Laval's first inventions in the 1880s to today's cutting-edge solutions, innovation has always been at the heart of who we are. And, at the close of 2025, we were able to celebrate a remarkable milestone: a new record for the number of patents filed in a single year.

With close to 5,000 patents filed (4,971 to be exact) and 2,752 trademarks (and counting), Alfa Laval continues to lead the way in transforming industries and enabling sustainable progress. 

A patent is more than a legal document, it's proof of our commitment to making a positive impact through technology.
