Alfa Laval strengthens position in Indonesia's growing data center market through collaboration with PT. Sumaraja Indah

Alfa Laval and PT. Sumaraja Indah have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering long-term lifecycle support for Alfa Laval heat exchanger installations in the H203 and JK7 Data Centre Projects in Indonesia. The collaboration is designed to enhance cooling performance, operational reliability and long-term energy efficiency of critical digital infrastructure.

The agreement includes lifecycle assessment support through Alfa Laval's Thermal Visual Condition Audit (VCA) programme covering a total of 40 Alfa Laval gasketed plate heat exchangers installed across the two projects. Under the agreement, Alfa Laval will carry out periodic performance assessments over a four-year period following commissioning to support optimal operation and long-term asset performance. 

Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing digital economies, with increasing demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence and data center capacity. The country's data center market is expected to grow significantly over the coming years, while IT load capacity is projected to increase from approximately 1.44 GW in 2025 to 3.56 GW by 2030.

Sumaraja Indah, established in 1984, is a leading Indonesian contractor with experience delivering industrial, commercial and mission-critical infrastructure projects, including Tier III and Tier IV data centers across Indonesia. "Reliable cooling infrastructure plays a vital role in data center operations. Through this collaboration with Alfa Laval, we aim to support long-term performance, operational reliability and energy efficiency for our customers' facilities," says Hamidi Markom, President Director, PT. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia's digital infrastructure through solutions that improve energy efficiency, optimize lifecycle performance and help secure reliable operations throughout the lifetime of critical cooling systems. 

The MoU was announced in conjunction with the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) programme in Jakarta on 8 September 2026, where Alfa Laval contributed to discussions on industrial transformation, energy efficiency and sustainable growth.
