Swedish Ambassador visits Alfa Laval's advanced Brazed Heat Exchanger factory in Italy
Global leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation, and fluid handling, Alfa Laval, recently had the honor of hosting Jan Björklund, the Swedish Ambassador to Italy, at its state-of-the-art brazed heat exchanger (BHE) factory in San Bonifacio. This visit highlights the significance of Swedish business initiatives in Italy.
Inaugurated in November 2021, the San Bonifacio facility stands out as Alfa Laval's most modern and sustainable establishment. With the capacity to generate 1 MW of power from rooftop solar panels, the site proves Alfa Laval’s commitment to renewable energy. The factory has the latest research facilities and customer training zones and primarily serves European customers.

Ambassador Björklund, accompanied by the Mayor of San Bonifacio, Giampaolo Provoli, received a warm reception from Malgorzata Moczynska, Business Unit President, and Renata Vachova, Cluster President Southern Europe & Managing Director Adriatic. Led by Massimo Balestrini, Vice President of Operations and Site Manager, the tour offered insights into the facility's operations and provided a preview of the second production site currently being developed in San Bonifacio. This promising expansion is a segment of the Business Unit's ambitious capacity enhancement investments, initiated in response to the surging demand for heat pumps amid the global energy transition.
I am very impressed with what I have seen here today,” commented Ambassador Björklund. “It is a very modern factory able to respond to an increased request from the market. I see the San Bonifacio factory and Alfa Laval as an important part of the necessary green transition, which is very important for the future of our society and the climate. As the Ambassador of Sweden in Italy, I am very glad to see this Swedish-Italian collaboration expand.”
"Hosting Ambassador Björklund at our San Bonifacio premises was a significant moment for us. This establishment embodies our commitment to a clean-energy future. Our goal is to help our customers grow their businesses and transition away from fossil fuels at the same time as those customers help their customers do the same.” said Malgorzata Moczynska.
