Team Manager - Materials & Logistics

This position develops and coordinates the activities of the team and is responsible for Shipping, Receiving and Supermarket areas. This person will also lead the areas in regard to safety, quality, delivery accuracy, cost and efficiency. In this role there is accountability for meeting the KPI’s for those areas, as well as handling personnel issues, environmental, and health & safety initiatives. This role also requires actively working with operational interfaces, communicating and coordinating.

  • Ensures that KPI’s are met and reported according to company policies
  • Plans activities to ensure material availability is in line with customer needs
  • Responsible for ensuring that equipment & manpower are utilized efficiently
  • Ensures (together with Team Leader) that detailed scheduling processes are made and followed
  • Directs duties and processes of all team members’ work related activities
  • Drives performance and improvements in the team
  • Ensures that team members have appropriate training
  • Recruiting – in cooperation with Unit Manager and HR
  • Support Skills Incentive Program
  • Ensures that attendance reports are correctly reported to Payroll
  • Performs safety/environmental audits
  • Investigates, collects & prepares info for reports, records; data entry of production activity, inventory, etc.
  • Leads and participates in projects
  • Leads and supports change management activities
  • Manages daily shipping and receiving activities
  • Manages warehouse activities including material handling support
  • Bachelor’s Degree or work equivalent
  • 5 or more years’ supervisory experience, managing Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse
  • Strong history in inventory control and management
  • Successful experience in Cycle Counting Procedures.
  • Previous experience in the application of manufacturing concepts (Line Balancing, Process flow, and Lead Times), as well as Lean Principles (5s)
  • Working knowledge of and experience with HSE programs and practices
  • Working knowledge of ERP based integrated manufacturing systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel)
  • Export shipping processes experience
  • Bilingual a plus
